Half a mile to the south is Gatton Manor Golf & Country Club and also the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden.
Bridgham Cottage is ideally sited for both the casual birdwatcher and serious birder. There are kingfishers, woodpeckers, grey wagtails, and a wide variety of woodland species in the grounds while over 170 species of birds have been recorded in this area of Surrey. Species such as the Nightjar, Nightingale, Woodcock, Dartford Warbler, Woodlark, Stonechat and Buzzard can be seen locally in season.
We are also well situated for day trips to a variety of excellent birdwatching sites in southern England, such as Thursley, Frensham Ponds, Pagham Harbour, Pulborough Brooks RSPB, Farlington Marshes, Staines Reservoir and Elmley.
Why not take a walk in our bluebell woods leading you down to the stream. Crossing over the stepping stones will take you along public footpaths toward the village green which is within 15 minutes walk. here, you can take a break and some excellent food at the 17th Century Parrot Inn at Forest Green.
North of the village there are superb walks and bridle paths leading up to the National Trust Leith Hill Tower and the surrounding hills.
Horsham and Reigate are within thirty minutes drive, as is the south coast.
